This poll inspires me to make rude remarks.

Radio boxes?

There's a madness to my methods. Please bear with me.

I assumed that you were aware that it will inspire many of your friends to make rude remarks. But that doesn't demonstrate anything novel; and I can't provide the input if I don't understand the prompt.

Are there any objections other than the fact that it only permits one response per user?

I take my joke religion very seriously.

And many of those religions have some very distinct branches.

I assume this is the one I think you mean?

Yes. But there are others; although many Subgenius, for instance, will identify as Athiest or Agnostic, not all do.

Having to choose one made me do some weird defining: religiously, if forced to choose I'll pick agnostic, but Jewish is at least as large a defining feature of who I am, it's just more cultural than religious. Of course, that said, if you let me, I'd choose both.

I'll stand on the sidelines and cheer for the religious left, but haven't played that game in a while.

My considered bucket of labels is: lapsed UU atheist humanist with an occasional taste for Buddhism.
I voted atheist.

Same here, except without the Buddhist bit.

I'm technically agnostic, but atheist by default (if forced to make a choice). Occam's Razor and all that.

I don't know that I "identify" with any religion. It's not a part of who I am. If you tried to pin me down to something, depending on the day and your choice of definitions, you might be able to associate me with agnostics or atheists, but only because you'd be defining either of them so broadly.

Culturally Lutheran (ELCA); functionally agnostic (what I picked above); believes if there is a god(s) that created the universe, ey is best understood through studying the universe ey created, which could fall under pantheist, I guess.

I voted Buddhist, but I don't really practice it and go to a UU church (which actually has a Buddhist sitting group, but I don't go to it because it meets at the same time as the young adult group).

I tend to group animism and sometimes pantheism (depending on the flavor) under paganism (or neopaganism, depending on how pedantic people want to be).

Atheism doesn't really belong on the list; the question "Do you believe in God" is correlated, but not identical to, "What religion do you identify with?"

I classify myself as polyatheist, I believe in the nonexistence of many gods.

I also found myself surprised that there were so many options that to me seemed pagan.

Checked animism, which is not necessarily what comes easy to me. In that case I would probably have to be agnostic, because I am in constant doubt about all possibilities presented to me. I make a conscious effort to "practice" animism as a form of paganism, in the same way someone who meditates regularly is said to practice.

But... there is no "other" option. Now I have to actually think. Not fair! (-;

So after a bit of thinking, I went with agnostic, rather than Pagan or Pantheist, because while there are Pagan and Pantheistic elements to my religion, both fail to encompass the entirety of it. Also, I have been known to refer to myself as "the most religious agnostic I've ever met".

In summary, I believe in many Gods that may or may not exist.

I checked Pagan, but my approach to paganism is both pantheistic and animistic.
