local hardware store?
Can anybody recommend a good locally owned hardware store in the Cambridge/Somerville area?

I need a needle-valve.

tags is the only hardware store in the area that I know of, but its unlikey they'll have it. Medford hillside hardware might, as well as the painting place at mass ave and rt 16. Home despot definatly, but thats a pain. There's a store in Winchester center also.

There's a hardware type store in Harvard Sq. No clue what they have or don't have though. They're on the same block as Urban Outfitters and TeaLux.

I second this place as being awesome, but Pill's in Central is cheaper and is open later.

there is Pill's (in Central Sq. on Mass Ave near the city hall) I've walked in there with broken pieces of a 40 year old faucet, and they found me something that would replace it.

Inman Hardware is small but also real and they consistently had what I needed when I lived over there.
